Q: How does the nanny placement process work?
A: Our process includes:

  1. Initial consultation to understand your family’s needs.

  2. Completion of a detailed family questionnaire.

  3. Deposit payment to begin the recruitment process.

  4. Interviews with qualified nanny candidates.

  5. Background and references check.

  6. Final selection and placement contract.

Payments and Fees

Q: What are the fees for your nanny placement services?
A: Our fees are as follows:

  • Part-time: $2,500+

  • Full-time: $4,000+

  • Deposit: $400 (non-refundable)

Q: What does the deposit cover?
A: The deposit is non-refundable and covers the cost of:

  • Extensive background checks on potential candidates.

  • Administrative work involved in the vetting process.

  • CPR/First Aid certification for the nanny if required.

Q: When is the placement fee due?
A: The placement fee is due once you have selected and committed to hiring a nanny introduced by SMN Placement Coordinator.

Q: Are your fees refundable?
A: The deposit is non-refundable. Placement fees are refundable only under the terms outlined in our 1-year guarantee.

Q: What is your 1-year guarantee?
A: If your nanny quits or unforeseen issues arise within one year of the placement date, we will provide replacement placement services at no additional cost. The guarantee does not apply if you decide to replace the nanny for personal reasons unrelated to their performance.

A: If a replacement is needed, we will:

  1. Reassess your family’s needs.

  2. Search for suitable candidates.

  3. Arrange new interviews and facilitate the replacement.

 

Nanny Qualifications and Screening

Q: How are your nannies vetted?
A: All nannies undergo:

  • Comprehensive interviews

  • Extensive background checks

  • Reference checks

  • Verification of skills and certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid)

 

Q: Can I interview the nanny candidates?
A: Absolutely! We coordinate interviews with shortlisted candidates so you can choose the best fit for your family.

A: If the initial candidates are not a match, we will continue the search until you find someone who meets your expectations.

 

Contracts and Legal Compliance

Q: Do you provide a contract template for the nanny?
A: Yes, we provide a general contract template that you can customize to your needs. We also mediate the final contract to ensure compliance with Washington State laws and fair terms for both parties.

 

Q: Am I responsible for taxes and other household employer obligations?
A: Yes, as the employer, you are responsible for complying with household employment laws, including taxes and insurance. We can provide resources to help you navigate these requirements if needed.
